65Promises aLone Wolf and CubPlot Amid Dino Terror

If any film can prove that you could take a silly ass premise ( time travel!dinosaurs ! ) and make something decent and exciting out of it , it ’ll be65 . StarringAdam Driverand Ariana Greenblatt , the drone already has me pretty invested with pie-eyed redaction , a clean level set of expectations , decent Dino VFX , and ( lo and behold ! ) a discernable plot .

When a original / military man / infinite marine Mills ( Driver ) accidentally travel back in time and crash lands in the Cretaceous period alongside a young young woman named Koa ( Greenblatt ) , they must sneak their mode through a dino - infested landscape . There ’s a tantrum at the end which makes me think that this film is actually going to take situation during the Cretaceous - Paleogene extinguishing event , which will definitely be up the stakes . There ’s not much beyond giant flare asteroids hitting the Earth that you could add up to a landscape full of T - Rexes to make it more threatening .

There ’s obvious compare to Jurassic Park , but this house trailer also reminds me of Prey , Planet of the Apes , and lose in Space . There have been a lot ofdisappointing dinosaur moviesrecently , but if 65 can live up to the Lone Wolf and Cub promise of the trailer , this one might rick out to be somewhat with child .

The film is written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods , who also wrote the supernatural / illusion horror moving-picture show , A Quiet Place . Sam Raimi is also on as a producer , which is sure to describe some eyes to the this pre - apocalyptic survival film .

65 will release in theaters on March 17 .
