catch me count on theZayed National Museumout : its metal sails are obviously supposed to represent the wingtips of some enormous super - insect whose headway happens to be burrow underground while it ’s take a nap .
OK , no , that ’s not quite ripe , but it ’s close ! The museum , a memorial to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan , the founding president of the UAE , is suppose to reflect Sheikh Zayed ’s dearest of nature , its offstage a nod to one of Zayed ’s favourite pastimes : falconry . Hey , see , I was n’t that far off . And the wings do n’t just expect cool , they keep thing coolheaded , too :
The pillar heat up and act as as caloric chimney to draw chill aviation current by nature through the museum . brisk melody is captured at humble storey and drawn through buried soil - cooling pipe and then free into the museum ’s lobby . The heating plant at the top of the towboat works to take in the airwave up vertically through the art gallery due to the thermal stack event . Air vent open at the top of the wing - influence towers taking advantage of the negative pressure on the lee of the extension profile to cast the live air out .
The museum iscurrently under constructionon Saadiyat Island , just outside of Abu Dhabi , and will eventually house shops , cafes , performance venues and more . Here ’s what it ’ll count like during the daylight .
And from the back :
Hopefully it stays run aground . [ ArchDaily ]
