Rodney Atkinsis feeling blue — in a good way!
In a clip chronicling the big reveal, Atkins hits a baseball that explodes into a cloud of blue after first thinking the video being filmed is solely for their partnership withSecond Harvest Food Bank.
Rose (who was already in the know!) can’t contain her laughter once her husband whacks the ball, as it takes him a little while to realize he justrevealed the sex of his childon camera.
“We did the ‘sneak peek’ gender test when Rose was pregnant with Ryder, and Eli and I got to surprise her … so this time it was her turn. And ‘boy’ she really got me good,” Atkins tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Atkins revealed he was going to become a dad for the third time on Valentine’s Day last month ina heartfelt lyric videofor “My Life,” the second single from his forthcoming albumCaught Up in the Country.
Both the dad-to-be and Rose, 32,implored their followerson Instagram to watch the entirety of the video, where the couple promised they wouldfind a “surprise ending.”
Beginning near the 3:10 mark, a framed picture of Ryder and Elijah could be seen, with the younger brother holding up an ultrasound photo in the snap.
“Thank you to everyone for your kind words about our growing family!” Atkinscaptioned the same imageon his Instagram account. “Made releasing this new song even more special.”
