You know howtime travelflicks can get really , really uncanny if they ’re done decently ? Nothing is weirder thanEvent 16 , a motion-picture show about what ’s happening in Wellington today , tomorrow , and yesterday .
I loved this low budget mindbender , even though upshot 16 has some of the usual problem of prison term - traveling movies , with a knotty plot and a lot of “ actually I ’m this guy from the past , but in the future , in a present - day disguise ! ” But there ’s so much good stuff in it , like this scenery between two factor from the future , fill in a present - 24-hour interval Wellington eatery .
One guy wire is there correspond what amounts to worldly law enforcement , trying to make trusted issue in the past happen they way they are supposed to . The other is a woman who sell black market devices that reveal who you really are under whatever eldritch physical screening assigned you by the government . It seems as if she ’s selling these armbands to people from the future who are agents in the present , unable to link with their existent , future selves . really to be honest I have no idea what she ’s doing other than being a black food market dealer in cool identity tech , and I love it .
The sleep of the movie is just as weird , focusing on a serial killer from the past who needs to go into the hereafter to get neurological treatments that can cure his madness . . . or not . The low - budget gist are used to great and originative upshot , and a batch of the performance are middling bloody ripe . If you want a good clip travel brainteaser , or just desire to see all the futurist - looking places in Wellington , definitely watch out Event 16 .
