CBS is working on developing a show base on H.G. Wells ’ 1896 novel The Island of Doctor Moreau , according toVariety . The show , to be named Moreau , comes from Sleepy Hollow carbon monoxide gas - Lord Phillip Iscove .
The show will orbit around Dr. Katherine Moreau , who will press “ the edge of medicine through revolutionary scientific experiment and treatments in her privately funded island hospital . ”
The original novel followed a shipwreck man name Edward Prendick , who wash up on an island home to Doctor Moreau , who used vivisection and experimentation to create human - similar hybrid animals .
The novel has been conform a number of meter , since 1913 , and it ’s been similar inspiration for more recent stories like Orphan Black .
