Cisco , which hold the trademark on the iPhone name , just held a military press conference here at CES to announce that they distributed an agreement to Apple last dark , and that they have a bun in the oven it to be signed today . For those who are n’t up - to - focal ratio on thiskerfluffle , we learned just before Christmas that Cisco own the trademark for the iPhone , and is in fact going to sell a product under that name . Given Apple ’s numerous requests for license to employ Cisco ’s iPhone trademark over the retiring several years and our extensive discussions with them recently , it is our belief that with their announcement today , Apple intends to gibe to the final written document and public statement that were distributed to them last night and that addressed a few remain items .
