DANCING WITH THE STARS - “Finale”

It was one and done forDancing with the Stars' run as a streaming exclusive.

After the ballroom competitionmoved to Disney+ from ABC for season 31,ABC confirmed on Wednesday that it’s officially returning to the network for its upcoming 32nd season and will air simultaneously on Disney+.

“WelcomingDancing with the Starsback to ABC offers us the unique opportunity to capitalize on the breadth of Disney Entertainment and reach audiences across all our platforms,” Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich said in a statement. “Wherever viewers want to watch, we have a home for them to tune in and root for their favorite couple in the ballroom.”

BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions General Manager Valerie Bruce called it a “privilege” forDWTSto become “the first live series simulcast on” both platforms.““This demonstrates the belief that ABC and Disney have always shown in our iconic format and how it’s become a pop-culture powerhouse with millions of fans,” she continued. “We’re thrilled to embark on this new phase in our partnership which has been going strong for nearly two decades.”

The show looks forward to continue growing its audience on the streaming platform.

“Season 31 gave us the opportunity to introduceDancing with the Starsto a new generation of fans on Disney+, and we are excited to build on that with our partners at ABC and Hulu,” Disney+ President Alisa Bowen said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to giving our viewers a front-row seat to the dance floor on another great season of the first-ever live series on Disney+.”

At the time of the Disney+ move last year, Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution Chairman Kareem Daniel said in a statement, “The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home forDancing with the Starswhile continuing to expand our demographic reach.”

Chairman of Entertainment at Walt Disney Television Dana Walden called the transition “a great opportunity to introduce this show to a whole new generation of fans on Disney+.”

Season 31 saw prosMark BallasandLouis van Amstelreturn to the ballroom. After taking homethe Mirrorball Trophywith his TikTok star partnerCharli D’Amelio, the 36-year-old pro has sinceannounced hisDWTSretirement.

Season 31 also marked hostTyra Banks' last time as host. She told TMZ in March that she would beexiting the show after three seasons.
