Actually , George R.R. Martin ’s Game of Thrones / Westworld crossover plan make more sense than the literal show . His mind is that there ’s a Game of Thrones World next to the Westworld green . And there should be one . Because we all know , with the state of creative capitalism being what it is , that the first wholly immersive , android - populated theme world would be found on an already live news report .
western are n’t nearly as popular these day as phantasy is , so it ’s logical to guess that a company would n’t make the massive fiscal investing in the android parking area without the refuge earnings of an live fandom . I palpate like Westworld would more by nature be a second or third park after , like , Westeros or Star Wars or Walking Dead World acted as validation of concept .
Apparently , Martin had a alike estimate . He mentioned the idea to Westworld showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy at dinner a while back . Both shows are HBO production , why not use the sets and player to make Game of Thrones World ? The original movie had Roman World and Medieval World , after all . ( Of seeing them in the show , Nolan says , “ We ’ve got an awed portion of material to insure just with Westworld , but you want to stay tuned . . . ” )
Talking toEW , Nolan and Joy are blandish , but noncommittal . Nolan said , “ He ’s a endearing guy and a stunning writer and it ’s flattering he would encourage a crossing . We should be so prosperous . ”
Joy was more unforced to give a sort of “ no , ” suppose , “ I need to be think that Dragon are real . I want them be a real thing . So as much as I get it on George , I ca n’t recede that for myself ! ”
Logistically and legally , yeah , a world base on an existing dealership would be a pain for the show to do . But it does make more sense within the world of Westworld than a Wild West world does .
