Aladdin is about as straightforward as movies come . You do n’t take the air out of it really wondering what could happen in a sequel . Everyone justlives happily ever after . On the other paw , if you ’re a huge lover of Aladdin and see the new live - action version this weekend , maybe you scratched your read/write head about one or two things regarding the euphony . Thankfully , we enquire atomic number 27 - writer and director Guy Ritchieabout a few of them .
First of all , Aladdin ’s goal credit rating are comprised of a few songs , including a full tap version of“Friend Like Me ” by Will Smithand DJ Khaled . It ’s very much in the venous blood vessel of Smith ’s call at the end of Men in Black and Wild Wild West and is hilarious no matter which way you depend at it . And , though he did n’t exactly accept it , it seems like the determination about that vocal was out of the conductor ’s hands .
“ That came quite late in the solar day , really , ” Ritchie told io9 when asked when he obtain out about Smith ’s whang song . “ Came quite deep in the day . I mean very tardily … I view the celluloid last week for really the first fourth dimension with everything and I have it off that was happening , that tune , but … yeah . ”

Well , OK then .
Next up , Aladdin ’s music is mostly Sung dynasty and reprises from the renovate film , economize for one major summation , “ Speechless , ” which was written for Ritchie ’s movie . However , Disney made Aladdin into a Broadway musical in 2011 , and that show introduce a bunch of new songs . One of them ( “ Proud of Your Boy ” ) was even write byAlan Menken and Howard Ashmanfor the original film but got cut . So , before putting a new song into the movie , did Ritchie and his squad look at the point show for brainchild ?
“ Yeah , I mean we did [ look at it ] , ” Ritchie say . “ I mean , I went to go see it , but we had our hand full and I did n’t think we were curt of ideas either . If we were short of ideas , maybe we would have tapped into other things , but I think we had enough . ”

last , and this is a small-scale pamperer , but the film does n’t include the famous reprise of “ Prince Ali ” by Jafar seen here …

There are game reasons , of course . The Ali / Aladdin disclose is handled a petty differently in the fresh movie . Also , Ritchie pronounce it simply did n’t fit as organically as the other songs .
“ You have to be very judicious about where it is that you’re able to have any melodious interlude , whether they are a reprise or not , ” Ritchie said . “ And that was just one of those ones that , you just did n’t finger like we had the quad to put that in . ”
Unfortunate , to be sure , but such is life in adaptations .
Aladdin is now in theaters . Roll Will Smith end credits song now .
