Jack Osbournewas the victim of a random attack this week.

“It occurred at 9:09 a.m. yesterday on the 1200 block of Ventura Blvd. Officers responded to a battery call and when they arrived, the suspect produced a screwdriver and tried to stab them,” a media relations officer for the Los Angeles Police Department told PEOPLE on Thursday. “A use of force occurred.”

“Suspect was taken into custody for assault with a deadly weapon for assaulting a police officer. Plus additional charges for the battery,” the officer said.

A rep for Osbourne had no comment.

According toTMZ, which first reported the news,The Osbournesstar was sitting on a sidewalk patio at a coffee shop in Studio City when an individual punched the reality star in the head. The outlet reports that the suspect appeared to be homeless, and Osbourne threw his coffee at the individual before they ran away.

Police officers later found the attacker and arrested the suspect, according to TMZ.

Osbourne currently hoststhe Travel Channel’s seriesPortals to Hell, which premieres April 26 at 10 p.m. ET.

The attack comes nearly a month after Osbourne and his ex-wife Lisa finalized their divorce.

BothTMZandRadarreported that a judgment of dissolution was entered in the former couple’s divorce case on Tuesday, March 5.

“Jack and Lisa are both doing well, getting along great as friends, and are still very much involved as a family with the kids,” a source close to the former couple told PEOPLE in early March.

Lisafiled for divorcein May after nearly six years of marriage. In August, Jackresponded to Lisa’s petition for divorceand agreed to joint custody of their three daughters:Andy Rose, 3,Pearl Clementine, 6, andMinnie Theodora, 14 months.

Jack also reportedly denied Lisa spousal support. According to TMZ, they agreed on an upfront cash payout rather than monthly payments.

Both cited irreconcilable differences as to the reason for their divorce.
