“What a privilege it is to know you, to celebrate you, and to call you [a] friend for nearly 30 years.”

In May 2023, days ahead of his 70th birthday, Brosnan spoke exclusively to PEOPLE abouthis debut solo art exhibition.
He considered his curated collection of paintings, sketches, silkscreens and other creations to be a “retrospective,” adding that it was 36 years in the making.

As for Goodall, he hoped that the latest artistic endeavor would bring her joy. “Hope this new journey around the sun brings all your heart desires,” Brosnan continued in his social media post on Wednesday.
Goodall will be celebrating her milestone birthday in two weeks.

“We’re planning to make this birthday the most memorable one yet! We’ve got lots planned,” the message says, adding that there will be events in Seattle and New York, plus a video birthday compilation message.
“A global#GoodAllDayparty to honor Jane’s spirit of kindness!” is also planned for her upcoming birthday.
In February, theBezos Earth FundandJane Goodall Institute USAsharedan exclusive announcement with PEOPLEabout their plan to “continue and expand” conservation efforts in the Congo Basin through a $5 million grant.
Lauren Sánchez, who is also the Bezos Earth Fund Vice Chair, called Goodall one of her “environmental heroes.”
“I would like to truly thank the Bezos Earth Fund for supporting our conservation work in Africa," Goodall said in a statement. “The protection of these forests, with their rich biodiversity, is crucial not only for the survival of the great apes, but also in efforts toslow down climate change.”
The goal of their partnership is to “safeguard the integrity and significant environmental carbon value of the larger Congo Basin rainforest” as well as “preserve the cultures and values of local and Indigenous communities."
