Sheopened up onTodayin 2016 about how she wished she had “started the process” of having a child in her 20s and later, in a blog for the show (which sheleft, as well as NBC completely, in 2017), about becoming a parent.

“The question is, are you more of an adult, more of a woman, if you have a child? I believe, as a person who wants a child someday, I am no less able to want the best for children and the best for this world,” wrote Hall, who will beginhosting her own daytime talk showthis year.

“Not to diminish the spectacularand beautiful journey of parenthood, but don’t make me feel I am half an adult if I don’t have a child,” she added. “Caring has nothing to do with being a parent. I care because I’m a human being.”
