Carey Mulliganhas overstayedRosamund Pike’s welcome inSaltburn.

In a clip from the new movie shared exclusively with PEOPLE, Pike’s Elspeth has a biting back-and-forth with her house guest Pamela (Mulligan) over how soon she’ll be moving out of Saltburn, Elspeth’s luxurious British estate.

“I don’t know what I’d do without Elspeth. She really saved me,” says Pamela, as Elspeth replies, “Don’t bang on about it, Pamela darling. You know we’re delighted to have you for however long it is you need to stay.”

“Forever?” jabs cousin Farleigh (Archie Madekwe).

Pamela adds, “Oh no, I think I might have found somewhere,” as the family quickly reacts excitedly. “Yeah, my cousin has a flat.”

“Oh, that’ll suit you very well, a nice little flat,” Elspeth tells her. Pamela walks it back, “It’s more of a bedsit really.”

Says Elspeth, “I loved living in a bedsit in my 20s. It’s so freeing to live all in one room. And much less cleaning to do. Oh, but it’ll be terrible when you’re gone. How will I cope?”

“Well,” Pamela says, “I could actually stay for a little bit longer.”

“Oh, no, darling. No. You must be desperate to be rid of us and find your own place. I quite understand,” Elspeth adds, looking to husband James (Richard E. Grant) for backup.
